However, while being an antagonist it is also an agonist as it will actually act as estrogen in certain parts of the body while acting as an anti-estrogen in other areas. As one of the oldest SERM’s on the market that is still regularly used medicinally, while Nolvadex is also used by anabolic steroid users it is not an anabolic steroid. This is an important note as some are often confused by its use in steroid cycles. Nolvadex is simply a SERM. Nolvadex, officially known as Tamoxifen Citrate, was first developed in 1961 by ICI now AstraZeneca under the trade name Nolvadex. The SERM was developed to treat breast cancer, specifically hormone-responsive breast cancer. However, it has also been effectively used in breast cancer prevention. Then we have anabolic steroid users, and it was long ago discovered that Nolvadex had a place among such individuals. Nolva, as it’s commonly known, can be used as an anti-estrogen during an anabolic steroid cycle in order to prevent estrogenic related side effects. It is also used as part of a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) recovery plan, which is its most common and beneficial point of use for the steroid user. Read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist before you start using tamoxifen and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medication by mouth with or without food, usually once or twice daily for 5 years, or as directed by your doctor. Daily dosages greater than 20 milligrams are usually divided in half and taken twice a day, in the morning and evening, or as directed by your doctor. If you are using the liquid, measure the dose carefully using a special measuring device/spoon. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. This drug is a potent nonsteroidal anti-estrogen. It is indicated for use in estrogen dependent tumors, i.e. breast cancer. Steroid users take Nolvadex C&K to prevent the effects of estrogen in the body. This estrogen is most often the result of aromatizing steroids. Nolvadex C&K can aid in preventing edema, gynecomastia, and female pattern fat distribution, all of which might occur when a man’s estrogen levels are too high. Also, these effects can occur when androgen levels are too low, making estrogen the predominant hormone. This can occur when endogenous androgens have been suppressed by the prolonged use of exogenous steroids. Nolvadex C&K works by competitively binding to target estrogen sites like those at the breast. This drug is not toxic nor have any side effects been seen in athletes who used the drug as an anti-estrogen. This drug is the most popular anti- estrogen amongst steroid users. Although it does not turn out to be 100% effective for everyone, it does seem to exhibit some level of effectiveness for the majority. It works so well for some bodybuilders they can take drugs like Anadrol right up to a contest as long as they stack it with Nolvadex C&K. It would seem wise to take this drug in conjunction with any steroid cycle. Most reported a dosage of 10 mg to 20 mg daily got the job done. Availability of Nolvadex C&K has been fair on the black market. Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time(s) each day. If you have breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, you may experience increased bone/cancer pain and/or disease flare-up as you start taking tamoxifen. In some cases, this may be a sign of a good response to the medication. Symptoms include increased bone pain, increased tumor size, or even new tumors. These symptoms usually disappear quickly. In any case, report these symptoms right away to your doctor. SIDE EFFECTS: See also Warning section.
